The International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore  (IIIT-B), a deemed university, will start a new five-year integrated M  Tech programme in Information Technology (IT).
Announcing this at a press conference here on Monday, Prof Rajagopalan of IIIT-B said, “The institute has been receiving requests from industry, government and public to utilise its expertise to provide quality education to students. Acceding to the requests, we have decided to start the five-year integrated M Tech course.”

This  integrated programme is a full-time dual degree programme for students  who have senior secondary school (Plus two) or equivalent qualification.
At  the end of five years, students will get both B Tech and M Tech  degrees in IT. Admissions for the programme is based on the rank  obtained in All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2012 and  also the candidates must not have attained 22 years as on August 2012.  About 60 students will be admitted for the course.
Prof  Rajagopalan also said that the programme is residential and all  students will have to stay in the hostels on the institution campus.
The  course fee is Rs 75,000 per semester and the hostel fee Rs 36,000 along  with Rs 3,000 for boarding. Interested students can visit  www.iiitb.ac.in for more details on the course.
